What Happens in Oasis, Stays in Oasis.

At least, unless the other chapter is a participating member of the San Saba Trade Network. Learn more about the local ruleset that set us apart from other chapters of Dystopia Rising, and let us explore live game design as an art and a culture.

  • Thanks to an in-character Trade Agreement between select settlements of the Greater Wastes, some Local Mechanics (which normally, exclusively work at the chapter they were created at) may also be used at Dystopia Rising: New Mexico. If your character has a local plot card from any participating settlement, those mechanics work at Dystopia Rising: New Mexico and vise-versa.

This is represented in the context of our setting by the presence of an Continental Railway that connects Oasis to the settlements listed below.

    • Dystopia Rising: Texas (New Bravado)

    • Dystopia Rising: New York (Requiem)

    • Dystopia Rising: Michigan (Mourning Glory)

  • At check-in for every Dystopia Rising: New Mexico event, players may choose to opt into Survival Mode. The intended experience of this mode is to offer a style of play that encourages greater resource-management while offering a design space for players willing to work with staff to create new and interesting mechanical systems for DR:NM.

At every DR:NM event where Survival Mode is offered, the following modifiers are applied to your character for the duration of the event.

    • Your Survivor must Drink [Plot Item: Aqua Vida Dolce] Once per 12s or they do not refresh their Mind Points.

    • Your Survivor is on the SES (Survival Ethos System) List and is considered open to Character versus Character (CvC) actions.

  • Bravado Bones is the ruleset Dystopia Rising: New Mexico uses for its Online Events. Written by Sam Mars, the full PDF for the ruleset can be found here.
